Marketplace Partner Assistant Role & Guidelines

The Marketplace Partner ticket is designed for individuals who will be helping a registered Marketplace Partner during the Black Authors Festival. A Marketplace Partner Assistant is not a replacement for the Marketplace Partner, but rather an extra set of hands to ensure a smooth and successful day.

Purpose & Duties

The Marketplace Partner Assistant is expected to:

  • Arrive at the same time as the Marketplace Partner (no later than 1:30 PM for setup).

  • Assist with unloading, setup, and teardown of the Marketplace Partner booth.

  • Help manage customer interactions, process sales, and restock merchandise as needed.

  • Monitor the booth when the Marketplace Partnersteps away (e.g., restroom breaks, networking).

  • Maintain a clean and organized booth area throughout the event.

  • Adhere to all Black Authors Festival rules, guidelines, and professional standards at all times.

Important Rules

  • The Marketplace PartnerAssistant ticket cannot be used to attend in place of the Marketplace Partner.

  • If the Marketplace Partnercannot attend, the Marketplace Partner assistant feature is non-transferable and non-refundable.

  • Marketplace Partner Assistants must comply with all festival policies, including conduct, professionalism, and setup/teardown times.

  • Marketplace PartnerAssistants may not bring music, loud amplification, or create disruptions.

  • Assistants must remain respectful to all Marketplace Partners, festival staff, and attendees.

Attire & Professionalism

While corporate attire is not required, Marketplace Partner Assistants must be attired appropriately and professionally, presentable, neat, and suitable for a public event representing a brand or business.

Access & Benefits

The Marketplace Partners & Marketplace Partner Assistant ticket includes:

  • Event food access (included with ticket).

  • Entry into the After Party.

  • Entry into the Film Screening, if applicable

Special Note for @ATL

Wheelchair & Mobility Accessibility: Any guests attending with mobility devices (including but not limited to walkers and wheelchairs) to ensure the facility has restroom facilities that can accommodate wheelchairs and guests with mobility devices. The notice must be submitted in writing no less than four weeks prior to the event date (August 29th). Notices that don't meet the deadlines may be subject to the facility not being able to meet the accessibility needs of all guests.
