A Legacy Unveiled: The A’Lelia Bundles Experience

As part of the Black Authors Festival @Sag Harbor VIP Experience, guests are invited into a rare and intimate encounter with living history.

We are honored to present a curated session with A’Lelia Bundles, renowned author, historian, and the great-great-granddaughter of Madam C. J. Walker, as well as the great-granddaughter of A’Lelia Walker.

In this exclusive presentation, Ms. Bundles will offer a rare glimpse into her family’s extraordinary legacy, bringing with her treasured personal artifacts that have been carefully preserved across generations. These items, intimate, historical, and deeply significant, serve as tangible connections to one of the most remarkable entrepreneurial and cultural dynasties in American history.

Through narrative, reflection, and historical insight, Ms. Bundles will illuminate how Madam C. J. Walker, widely recognized as America’s first self-made female millionaire, built not only a business empire, but a legacy rooted in economic empowerment, philanthropy, and community advancement. Equally compelling is the story of A’Lelia Walker, whose influence as a patron of the arts helped shape the cultural landscape of the Harlem Renaissance.

What makes this experience uniquely powerful is the intentional preservation of history. The meticulous records, personal archives, and documented legacy left behind by both women now allow their descendant to share their story with clarity, depth, and authenticity.

This is more than a presentation, it is a moment of cultural reverence.
An opportunity to witness history not as something distant, but as something carried, protected, and shared.

Guests of the VIP Experience will have the distinct privilege of engaging with this legacy in an environment designed for reflection, appreciation, and elevated dialogue.

This is where legacy is not only remembered, but experienced.
